Firm History
For many years, Tri-County Insurance Brokers Ltd., McKiee & Farrar Limited and Gair Insurance and Realty Ltd. have been serving Norfolk County and surrounding areas by providing a wide variety of insurance products to a diverse client base. Whether it is auto, home, condominium, tenants, marine, motorcycle, ATV, farm, commercial, bonds, directors and officers, errors and omissions and a host of other coverages, our clients benefit from the knowledge gained by our experienced, well-trained staff of 17 licensed insurance professionals.
Having contracts with many leading Ontario insurers, we are able to offer an array of insurance products at very competitive prices. We are proud members of the Insurance Brokers Association of Ontario and local affiliate Central Erie Insurance Brokers Association.

Tri-County Insurance, formed in the early 1960s was purchased by P. Bradley Smith and Paul C. Smith.
Brent C. Smith joins the firm. |
| 1980 – |
Tri-County moves to present location - 35 Main Street S., Waterford, ON. |
| 1981 – |
Brent C. Smith becomes a shareholder |
| 1990 – |
Paul C. Smith retires. |
| 1998 – |
Firm of McKiee & Farrar Limited - established in 1895, was purchased from Jay McKiee. |
| 2000 – |
McKiee office, after being located on Peel Street for 105 years, was moved to its present location, 28 Colborne Street N., Simcoe. |
| 2000 – |
Firm of Arnold Shaw Insurance was purchased and brought under the McKiee & Farrar umbrella. |
| 2000 – |
Cluster arrangement was made with Gair Insurance & Realty Ltd. |
| 2005 – |
Firm of Gair Insurance & Realty Ltd, established in 1946, was purchased and brought under the McKiee & Farrar umbrella. |
| 2006 – |
Lisa Greenfield (Brad’s daughter) joins the firm after graduating from the University of Western Ontario with her business degree. |
| 2010 – |
Brad purchases Brent’s shares and becomes 100% owner. Brent will continue to be employed by Tri-County Insurance as a Farm/Commercial Specialist. |
| 2010 – |
Paul R. Smith (Brad’s son) joins the firm after obtaining a finance degree from the University of Western Ontario (2007) and Chartered Accountant’s Designation (2010). |
